DENDY POWERHOUSE OUTDOOR CINEMA is a new and innovative cinema concept located alongside the picturesque New Farm Park and the Brisbane River. Operating year-round and showcasing a program of films Thursday - Sunday evenings, Dendy Powerhouse will cater for movie enthusiasts of all ages and lovers of arthouse breakouts, marquee blockbusters, concert films, children's content, and theatre productions. Join us from November 10 as we invite you to experience a new era in Brisbane entertainment with the first permanent outdoor cinema for the city.

Nothing says you’re in Queensland more than gathering with your friends and family and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle year-round so what better way to mix our love of film and cinema going than with the ultimate outdoor movie experience. Dendy Powerhouse boasts a massive outdoor screen atop custom-made 40ft shipping containers, 350 outdoor lounge chairs with wide armrests, and wireless Dendy headphones for every customer with superior sound quality. Order a glass of wine or beer, pair it with a cheese-box or partake in one of Dendy’s classic cinema snacks, including our famous lovingly hand-scooped choc tops, all from the comfort of your seat via a QR code. Prepare to be fully immersed in cinema under the stars.

We encourage you to consider taking the Ferry to Dendy Powerhouse, the nearest wharf is New Farm Park Ferry Terminal, only a 6 minute walk to the cinema.

Parking is available to all cinema goers.

New Farm Car Park (enter from Brunswick Street)

Gates open Mon-Fri 8.30am-11pm, Sat + Sun 6am-11pm.
Exit gate open until 12.30am.

Brisbane Powerhouse Car Park (enter from Lamington Street)
148 Parking Spaces (Paid)
6 accessible parking spaces for permit holders.
Operates 24/7.

Parking is payable at the automatic pay station located adjacent to the car park, or on exit.

Bus

Plenty of buses regularly travel to New Farm and stop within walking distance to the cinema.

Wheelchair Access

Our cinema is wheelchair accessible, with wheelchair accessible seating available. There is a pathway that allows wheelchair access from the carpark to the cinema. Accessible bathrooms are located within the Powerhouse main building.

Closed Caption & Audio Description

For our hearing and vision impaired guests, Dendy offers accessible cinema so you can enjoy the entire cinematic experience via your own personal device and sit anywhere in the cinema. Please see staff at the box office to collect the equipment and note the equipment is subject to availability (you will need to leave a form of ID to ensure the safe return of the equipment). If you need any assistance with the set-up to the Closed Caption or Audio system, please ask a Dendy Cinemas team member and we will be happy to help.
